I was recently invited to submit several pieces of my collage art to be featured in the February 2008 edition of The Houston Literary Review.
Says Jeff Crouch, Editor:
"[Andrew David King's] work gives us a re-articulation of the news, an interruption of images which work together as a jump narrative in a story all juxtaposition. Even his self-portraits speak to portraiture not as a still, but as a composition, a series of movements. King shouts, 'Rip off the mask. Look here! And here! And here!' His images are the grit of black and white blood, fiery tattoos, and gang graffiti; his theme largely that of violence... In of world of mixed signals and words that beg us to look away from history, King gives us collages that recognize the skull beneath the skin as if to say, 'This is the sign of power, this its incarnation.'"
Also, an editorial of mine, entitled Dig Deeper, appeared in The Daily Review today, February 15, 2008.

Andrew featured in Blood and Ink
I'm pleased to be named a contributor to the wonderfully entertaining and informative online community Blood and Ink, maintained by artist and comic-creator Elijah Brubaker and contributed to consistently by my great friend and fellow editor Ray Succre.
I've introduced a new series to Blood and Ink, entitled The Etymologist's Corner. It deals with the history of words, their origins, as well as particular insights I have as to their modern usage.
